How Did Tyler of I Turn My Podcast On Acquire His Copy of The Batman Forever (1995) Soundtrack as a Kid?

Our guest for this week is Tyler, host of I Turn My Podcast On, the best Spoon podcast out there. He joins Ryan and Nicole to talk about the blockbuster soundtrack to the blockbuster 1995 Joel Schumacher film, Batman Forever.

From U2 to The Flaming Lips, we bounce around between talking about the stacked music from the soundtrack and the stacked rumors surrounding casting Batman, Robin and The Riddler for the film. Ethan Hawke? Leo? Ewen MacGregor? (Nicole fans, drink!) We cover them all.

We discuss how the soundtrack has a blend of chart toppers (U2, Brandy, Method Man), critically acclaimed alt rock legends (Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, The Flaming Lips, Sunny Day Real Estates) and a bunch of covers (Massive Attack, The Offspring, Michael Huchence) and how they were all blown out of the water by "A Kiss from a Rose".

We also pay tribute to the late Kevin Conroy, the best Batman.

Ryan has a degree in Film Studies, and he’s a musician. So, Soundtrack Your Life is the perfect intersection of his two main passions. Plus, he’s an avid music fan—hunting down rare songs from his favorite bands has familiarized him with many obscure soundtracks over the years. It's been so gratifying for him to hear fellow film and music enthusiasts share their stories of why they love soundtracks!
